Team of Özyeğin University Students Wins Second Place in “Microsoft Grand Challenge”

The team “Fast and Furious” led by Ekrem Çetinkaya, a bachelor’s and master’s degree graduate and Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at Özyeğin University, won second place in the “2nd Bandwidth Estimation Challenge,” organized by Microsoft with over ten competing teams from across the world. Fellow team members who contributed to this significant success include Ahmet Pehlivanoğlu, İhsan Utku Ayten, Başar Yumakoğulları, and Mehmet Eren Özgün, all undergraduate Computer Science students, as well as Yiğit Kemal Erinç from the Technical University of Munich (also a graduate of Undergraduate Computer Science Program at Özyeğin University) and Enes Deniz (a graduate of Computer Science Program at Istanbul Technical University). Prof. Ali C. Beğen from our Computer Science Program also participated in the challenge as a member and the mentor of the team.

The first and second place winners will present their work at the ACM MMSys (Association for Computing Machinery Multimedia Systems Conference) in Bari, Italy, on April 15-18, 2024.
