Software and software management.
Dr. Yaşar Safkan graduated from Boğaziçi University in 1995 with a double major in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Physics. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2001. Following his graduation, he took various roles in the software industry; including but not limited to entrepreneurship, management, consulting and executive management (DOL, Google, Intertech, Denizbank, Aras Kargo, Akbank, Hepsiburada, Ekol Lojistik, Dünya Varlık). In the same time period, he taught physics and engineering courses at Boğaziçi University (part time, 2001-2016 - "Web Technologies with Java for Physicists I/II", "Thermodynamics, Waves, Optics and Modern Physics", "Programming with C", "Introduction to Programming with Python", "Thermal Properties of Matter", "Algorithms and Data Structures", "Problem Solving in Physics", "Quantum Computing", "Information and Entropy", "Database Management Systems", "Simulations in Physics") and Yeditepe University (full time 2003-2006 - "Introduction to Computer Engineering", "Algorithms and Computer Programming", "Data Structures", "Digital Electronics", "Microprocessors and Microcontrollers", "Advanced Probability Theory for Discrete Systems") (part-time, 2017-2020 - "Research Methods for Engineers"). His research interests include software and software management.
