Doğa Yılmaz
Doğa Yılmaz (CS), earned his B.Sc. degree in Computer Science, and subsequently, he secured admission to the M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence program along with a prestigious Fellowship at Özyeğin University. During his M.Sc., Doğa worked as a research assistant specializing in "Inverse Rendering" at OzU's Vision and Graphics Lab. His academic achievements include notable publications in international journals and conferences. Additionally, Doğa actively contributes to the academic community as a valued reviewer for various academic journals and conferences.
Following his graduation, Doğa continued his journey at Fishency Innovation as an R&D Software Engineer in Norway. Here, he contributes to innovative projects focused on underwater 3D reconstruction of Atlantic salmon, with the ultimate goal of enhancing offshore salmon farming efficiency. Doğa is at the forefront of developing technologies that promise a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future for food production.
Onurhan Turfanda
Onurhan Turfanda(CS 2020) earned his bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Özyeğin University. During his university years, he gained valuable experience as a teaching assistant under the guidance of Professor Jason Lau in the business department. This role allowed him to develop his teamwork and support skills. Simultaneously, he was an active member of the OzU Rover Team, which gave him the opportunity to delve into robotics and represent our country on the international stage by participating in the European Space Agency's Rover competition.
Following his university years, Onurhan embarked on his professional journey. He began by working on AI-based cash flow management at Yapı Kredi Technology. Later, he joined Amazon.com in Spain, contributing to EU-InTech. Currently, he is a member of the TomTom Spain team, working on the "Map of the Future" project. In this role, he is focused on creating real-time maps and revolutionizing map technologies and location-based services.
Berk Buzcu
Berk Buzcu (CS), graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Özyeğin University in 2020. During his undergraduate years, he had his internship at KoçSistem, where he served as a System Engineer Intern. During his senior year, he worked as a Cloud Consultant in a start-up venture, focusing on cloud systems architecture and also delving into automated negotiation, even participating in the ANAC 2020 competition.
Subsequently, Berk pursued further academic pursuits, enrolling as a Master's Student at Özyeğin University. During this academic journey, he actively contributed to the CHIST-ERA project, "EXPECTATION: Personalized Explainable AI for decentralized agents with heterogeneous knowledge," funded by Tübitak. Within this project, his primary research focus was on the application of explainability techniques in recommender systems, which aligned perfectly with his research interests. The overarching goal was to enhance the effectiveness of recommender systems in helping users achieve their objectives while fostering sociability.
In addition to his thesis research, Berk took on the development of a human-robot negotiation environment and explored other multi-agent-related topics involving Blockchain and drone cooperation. His dedication and contributions led to the publication of five papers during his master's program. Currently, Berk has started working as a Research Assistant at HES-SO, Switzerland on the "Smart-Edge" project where he is working on a healthcare use case for edge computing.
