We will keep updating the success stories of our graduates at this page who had their undergraduate degree in Computer Science Engineering department at Özyeğin University.

Osman Furkan Kınlı

Osman Furkan Kınlı (CS 2018),obtained his master's degree in Computer Science the following year. Within the scope of his master's thesis, he worked on similar image retrieval using Capsule Networks. He is currently continuing his doctoral thesis work. His research areas cover image processing, computer vision, image manipulation and restoration, illuminance and colors, and computational photography. He has achieved awards in international competitions related to night photography rendering in consecutive years. He has received the best reproducibility report and the best reviewer awards in international challenges on the reproducibility of academic research in Computer Science. In addition to his doctoral studies, he has also worked as a teaching assistant in undergraduate courses and as a research assistant in different research projects for his department. Furthermore, as venturing into the entrepreneurial journey in early 2020, he founded a Canadian-based company called T-Fashion, which provides services in AI-driven fashion trend analysis and generative fashion design.

Cem Ata Baykara

Cem Ata Baykara (CS) completed his first internship in Big Data at Türkiye İş Bankası. During his second internship at Fibabanka, he worked in the R&D department focusing on Internet of Things (IoT) security. After completing his Bachelor's degree, he started his master's degree in Network Security in 2020. Throughout his master's studies, he worked as a researcher in a TÜBİTAK project, alongside his advisors Dr. Kübra Kalkan and Dr. Ilgın Şafak (from Fibabank). During his master's program, his research primarily focused on IoT security and Blockchain.
Currently, he is working as a doctoral research assistant at Tübingen University in Germany, focusing on privacy-preserving machine learning. He is also working as a researcher on federated machine learning in the PrivateAIM (Privacy-Preserving Analytics in Medicine) project, developed for Germany's Medical Informatics Initiative.

Berk Buzcu

Berk Buzcu (CS), graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Özyeğin University in 2020. During his undergraduate years, he had his internship at KoçSistem, where he served as a System Engineer Intern. During his senior year, he worked as a Cloud Consultant in a start-up venture, focusing on cloud systems architecture and also delving into automated negotiation, even participating in the ANAC 2020 competition.

Subsequently, Berk pursued further academic pursuits, enrolling as a Master's Student at Özyeğin University. During this academic journey, he actively contributed to the CHIST-ERA project, "EXPECTATION: Personalized Explainable AI for decentralized agents with heterogeneous knowledge," funded by Tübitak. Within this project, his primary research focus was on the application of explainability techniques in recommender systems, which aligned perfectly with his research interests. The overarching goal was to enhance the effectiveness of recommender systems in helping users achieve their objectives while fostering sociability.

In addition to his thesis research, Berk took on the development of a human-robot negotiation environment and explored other multi-agent-related topics involving Blockchain and drone cooperation. His dedication and contributions led to the publication of five papers during his master's program. Currently, Berk has started working as a Research Assistant at HES-SO, Switzerland on the "Smart-Edge" project where he is working on a healthcare use case for edge computing.
